4 Tips so You Don’t Frustrate Your Audience!
QR codes are a great way to use technology to sell your book, especially if you’re traveling by air. There’s only so many books you can carry with you! That’s where QR Codes may be just the tool you need as you plan your book marketing strategy. Maybe you have a special price for people who attend your workshop or buy from you directly. A QR code on a bookmark is just one solution to providing a positive customer experience.
For something with so much positive potential, I prefer to approach the topic from a positive perspective. Those funny little square boxes with their black and white patterns won’t benefit you unless you embrace the four guidelines I share here.
1. You won’t link your QR code to a flash-based website.
Android smart phones don’t support Adobe’s Flash Player, and neither does iPhone. Only the most techy individuals are going to had the system. So if your website is flash-based, forget QR codes. You’ll be sending your customers to a blank screen.
That’s not a positive experience.
While you don’t have to replace your flash website, you should host a non-flash site that is smartphone friendly for your QR codes and for those customers/clients who access your information from their smartphones.
This content is for members only.4. Make sure the QR code links to something.
What will potential customers and clients think if they find themselves looking at a GoDaddy “coming soon” page? In this case, it’s better to link to your home page than nothing at all.
This is the kind of error that can pop up if you don’t spell your URL correctly, as well. So make it a practice to test your QR code before you start printing up advertising materials.
Summary
QR codes are here to stay for many reasons.
- They’re a great way to leverage advertising dollars.
- They enable you to create a range of positive experiences for your customers.
- They let you track the effectiveness of your promotions.
When done right, you’ll encourage customer loyalty and improve your bottom line at the same time.
